Salted Caramel Pretzel Bark is a delightful sweet and salty treat featuring a base of rich milk chocolate, topped with crunchy pretzels and gooey caramel drizzles. Perfect for snacking or gifting, this easy-to-make bark combines smooth caramel, salty pretzels, and creamy chocolate for an irresistible flavor combination.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Base

  • 1 (12 oz) bag Milk Chocolate Chips

Pretzel Layer

  • 8 oz Pretzels (half of 16 oz bag)

Caramel Drizzle

  • 1 (11 oz) bag Kraft Caramels, unwrapped
  • 2 tbsp Heavy Cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside to prevent sticking and for easy removal of the pretzel bark once set.
  2. Melt Chocolate: Place the milk chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth without any lumps.
  3. Spread Chocolate: Pour and spread about two-thirds of the melted chocolate evenly onto the prepared parchment paper, creating a base layer for the bark.
  4. Add Pretzels: Arrange the pretzels evenly over the melted chocolate, gently pressing them into the chocolate to ensure they stick and form a firm layer.
  5. Melt Caramels: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the unwrapped caramel candies and heavy cream; microwave for 2 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the mixture is melted and smooth.
  6. Drizzle Caramel: Use a spoon to drizzle the melted caramel evenly over the pretzel layer, adding a gooey, sweet contrast to the salty pretzels.
  7. Finish with Chocolate Drizzle: Drizzle the remaining melted chocolate over the top of the caramel and pretzels, creating a decorative and flavorful topping.
  8. Chill: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator and chill for at least 1 hour or until the bark is completely set and firm for easy breaking and serving.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper to easily lift the bark out of the pan without breaking.
  • For added texture, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over the caramel drizzle before chilling.
  • Store the bark in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week or refrigerate for longer freshness.
  • Substitute dark chocolate for a richer flavor or white chocolate for a sweeter twist if desired.
  • Make sure to stir the caramel cream mixture thoroughly to prevent burning during microwaving.
