Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 5 cups Rice Krispies or crispy rice cereal
  • 2 tablespoons milk (regular or almond milk)
  • 1/2 cup vanilla flavored protein powder
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter
  • 10.5 ounce bag mini marshmallows
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pan: Line a 9×9 inch pan with foil or parchment paper and grease it with butter or nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Protein and Milk: In a small bowl, whisk together the milk and vanilla protein powder until the mixture is smooth and fully combined. Set aside for later use.
  3. Melt Butter: Place a large pot or stock pot over medium heat and add the butter. Allow it to melt completely, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
  4. Melt Marshmallows: Reduce the heat to low and add the entire bag of mini marshmallows to the melted butter. Stir continuously until the marshmallows are fully melted and smooth.
  5. Combine with Protein Mixture: Stir in the vanilla extract and the prepared milk-protein powder mixture into the melted marshmallows thoroughly.
  6. Add Cereal: Remove the pot from heat. Immediately stir in the Rice Krispies cereal until every piece is completely coated with the marshmallow-protein mixture.
  7. Press in Pan: Transfer the mixture into the prepared pan. Gently press down using a spatula or wax paper to evenly distribute the mixture. Avoid pressing too hard to keep the treats light and chewy.
  8. Add Sprinkles: If desired, sprinkle colorful sprinkles on top for a festive touch.
  9. Set and Slice: Allow the treats to rest at room temperature for 30 to 60 minutes until fully set. Once firm, slice into squares and serve.

Notes

  • You can substitute almond milk or any milk of choice.
  • Press gently when packing the mixture into the pan to keep treats soft and chewy.
  • Sprinkles are optional and add a fun touch for kids or celebrations.
  • Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
  • For a vegan option, use vegan marshmallows and a plant-based protein powder.
