Main Ingredients
- 5 cups Rice Krispies or crispy rice cereal
- 2 tablespoons milk (regular or almond milk)
- 1/2 cup vanilla flavored protein powder
- 4 tablespoons salted butter
- 10.5 ounce bag mini marshmallows
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Sprinkles (optional)
- Prepare Pan: Line a 9×9 inch pan with foil or parchment paper and grease it with butter or nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Mix Protein and Milk: In a small bowl, whisk together the milk and vanilla protein powder until the mixture is smooth and fully combined. Set aside for later use.
- Melt Butter: Place a large pot or stock pot over medium heat and add the butter. Allow it to melt completely, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
- Melt Marshmallows: Reduce the heat to low and add the entire bag of mini marshmallows to the melted butter. Stir continuously until the marshmallows are fully melted and smooth.
- Combine with Protein Mixture: Stir in the vanilla extract and the prepared milk-protein powder mixture into the melted marshmallows thoroughly.
- Add Cereal: Remove the pot from heat. Immediately stir in the Rice Krispies cereal until every piece is completely coated with the marshmallow-protein mixture.
- Press in Pan: Transfer the mixture into the prepared pan. Gently press down using a spatula or wax paper to evenly distribute the mixture. Avoid pressing too hard to keep the treats light and chewy.
- Add Sprinkles: If desired, sprinkle colorful sprinkles on top for a festive touch.
- Set and Slice: Allow the treats to rest at room temperature for 30 to 60 minutes until fully set. Once firm, slice into squares and serve.
