Potatoes
- 5–6 medium potatoes (unpeeled, see notes)
Seasoning & Toppings
- Cooking spray (for coating)
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
- 1–2 tsp truffle oil
- Prepare the Potatoes: Wash the potatoes thoroughly and cut them into fries with the skin on using a knife or potato chipper. Rinse the cut fries in cold water or soak for 10-20 minutes to remove excess starch, then drain and pat completely dry using a kitchen towel to ensure no moisture remains.
- Season and Air Fry: Spray the fries evenly with cooking spray, shaking them around while spraying to coat all sides. Season the fries with salt. Place the fries in the air fryer basket in a single layer and select the Air Fry function. Cook for 10 minutes.
- Finish Cooking with Truffle Oil and Parmesan: Remove the basket, shake the fries well, drizzle with truffle oil, and continue air frying for an additional 8-10 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Two minutes before the fries are done, open the air fryer and sprinkle 2 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese over them to melt.
- Serve: Transfer the fries to a serving dish and sprinkle with the remaining Parmesan cheese before serving.
- Alternative Method: If using frozen fries, air fry them for 6-8 minutes or oven bake according to package instructions. Add truffle oil and grated Parmesan in the last 2 minutes to preserve the aroma and flavor.
Notes
- Soaking the cut potatoes in cold water helps remove excess starch, which results in crispier fries.
- Make sure to pat dry thoroughly before air frying to avoid soggy fries.
- Adjust the amount of truffle oil to taste; it is quite potent.
- Frozen fries can be used for convenience and adjusted cook times.
