Fudge Ingredients
- 1 1/2 sticks butter (12 tablespoons)
- 5 oz. evaporated milk
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 – 7 oz. jar marshmallow creme
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- Prepare the saucepan: Add the butter to a medium saucepan and place it over medium-high heat.
- Add evaporated milk and sugar: Stir in the evaporated milk and sugar until combined.
- Boil the mixture: Bring the ingredients to a full, rolling boil. Continue boiling for 4 minutes or until the temperature reaches 234°F (soft-ball stage), stirring frequently to prevent burning.
- Mix in marshmallow creme: Remove the saucepan from heat and add the marshmallow creme. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and all lumps are dissolved.
- Add flavorings: Stir in the vanilla extract and creamy peanut butter until the fudge mixture is well blended and uniform in texture.
- Pour and set: Pour the hot fudge into a greased 9″ x 9″ casserole dish or up to a 13″ x 9″ dish. Spread evenly.
- Cool completely: Let the fudge cool untouched for at least 3 hours or until fully set before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
- Nutrition information is approximate and based on standard ingredient values.
- For high altitude adjustments, subtract 2°F from the target 234°F temperature for every 1,000 feet above sea level.
- Line the casserole pan with parchment paper to easily lift out the fudge once set, simplifying slicing and serving.
