Creamy Parmesan Beef Linguine with Garlic Butter Sauce is a luscious, flavor-packed pasta dish featuring tender ground beef, a rich garlic butter cream sauce, and perfectly cooked linguine. It’s easy enough for a weeknight yet decadent enough for a dinner party.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 12 oz linguine pasta

Protein

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)

Sauce

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely diced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup reserved pasta water (as needed)

Garnish

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley or thyme, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of the pasta water.
  2. Sauté the Aromatics: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the minced garlic and finely chopped onion, sautéing until fragrant and translucent — about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Brown the Beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet and break it apart with a wooden spoon. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until the beef is browned and fully cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
  4. Build the Cream Sauce: Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer. Stir in the freshly grated parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes if using. Let it simmer for 4-5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked linguine to the skillet, tossing gently to coat the noodles in the sauce. If needed, add a splash of reserved pasta water to help loosen the sauce and coat everything evenly.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Finish with a sprinkle of chopped fresh parsley or thyme. Serve hot, optionally topped with extra parmesan and a twist of black pepper.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated parmesan for the smoothest, richest sauce.
  • Save your pasta water—it’s gold for thinning out the sauce without losing flavor.
  • For a veggie boost, sauté mushrooms or spinach along with the onions.
