Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Mixture

  • 4 oz semi-sweet or milk chocolate
  • 2 cups Rice or Corn Chex Cereal
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 BUTTERFINGER® Fun-Size Bars, chopped into small pieces
  • Peanut Butter Mixture

    • 1/2 cup peanut butter
    • 2 cups Rice or Corn Chex Cereal
    • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
    • 3 BUTTERFINGER® Fun-Size Bars, chopped into small pieces
    • Final Mix

      • 1 cup BUTTERFINGER® Peanut Butter Cup Minis

Instructions

  1. Melt Chocolate: Melt the chocolate using a double boiler or microwave in short increments, stirring continuously to avoid burning. Once the chocolate is fully melted, remove it from heat.
  2. Warm Peanut Butter: In a separate bowl, gently warm the peanut butter in the microwave until it becomes liquidy and smooth to mix easily with the cereal.
  3. Chop Candy Bars: Finely chop the six Butterfinger Fun-Size bars into small pieces and set them aside for mixing.
  4. Mix Chocolate Cereal: Combine 2 cups of the Chex cereal with the melted chocolate, stirring gently to coat every piece evenly. Fold in half of the chopped Butterfinger bars carefully.
  5. Mix Peanut Butter Cereal: Take the remaining 2 cups of Chex cereal, mix with the melted peanut butter until well coated, then fold in the remaining chopped Butterfinger pieces.
  6. Coat Chocolate Cereal: Place 1/2 cup of powdered sugar and the chocolate-coated cereal into a gallon ziplock bag. Seal the bag with some air inside and shake vigorously until the cereal is fully coated with powdered sugar.
  7. Coat Peanut Butter Cereal: Repeat the coating process with the peanut butter-coated cereal using the remaining 1/2 cup powdered sugar in a second gallon ziplock bag, shaking well to coat.
  8. Combine And Serve: Mix both the powdered sugar-coated chocolate and peanut butter cereals together in a large bowl. Finally, add the Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cup Minis, gently fold, and serve immediately or store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Use semi-sweet chocolate for a slightly less sweet snack or milk chocolate for a sweeter outcome.
  • Ensure peanut butter is smooth for easier melting and coating.
  • Shake the ziplock bags gently but thoroughly to achieve an even coating of powdered sugar.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days to maintain freshness.
  • For a festive touch, sprinkle some crushed Butterfinger pieces on top before serving.
